Flag:It consists of three horizontal rows with green in the top, white in the middle and red in the lower deck. The national alphabet (the word of ‘Allah’) is in red in the middle of the white part. The word ‘الله اکبر’ (meaning God is the greatest) has been repeated in the white and Arabic script 11 times throughout the lower edge of the green row and 11 times over the upper edge of the red row.

Geographical location:Iran is the 16th largest country in the world and is located in the southwest of the Asian continent and is considered to be part of the Middle East. Iran is geographically located in the northern hemisphere and in the southern part of the temperate north. About 90 percent of the country's land is located in the Iranian plateau. The land of Iran is generally mountainous and semi-arid and its average height is more than 1200 meters above sea level. More than half of the country's land is mountains and heights, one quarter is plains, and less than a quarter of it is also land under cultivation. The lowest internal point with a height of 56 meters is in the Lut hole and its highest peak is Damavand with a height of 5628 meters in the Alborz mountain range. On the southern side of the Caspian Sea, the altitude is 28 meters below the sea level.

Iran's neighbors:Iran neighbors the Caspian Sea and Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia, neighbors (from the north) the Persian Gulf and Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia (from the south) Turkey and Iraq (from the west), and Pakistan and Afghanistan (from the east). Altogether, the environment around Iran is about 8731 kilometers, of which 2700 kilometers is the sea and 6031 kilometers is the land border.
